They Say the Casino Always Wins, So Why Not Bet With the Casino?

Whether you gamble for fun, for the thrill, or for the lucrative financial opportunities it appears to offer; if you’re a responsible gambler, you’re more than likely familiar with the well-known adage that says, “The casinos always win (in the end).” It’s one of the main reasons why it’s so strongly encouraged and highly advised that gambling at the casino be seen as just a form of entertainment and not some sort of potential income source to replace your day job. But, if the fact of the matter is that the casino always wins in the end, then why not just bet with the casino so that, well…

…in the end, you AND the casino always win.

If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them

For as long as anyone alive can remember, the relationship between the casino and the players have always been one of opposition. Whereby they are each others “opponents”, set out on trying to win the money of the other through bets made on a game of chance. In principle, the casino bets on you losing while you’re betting on yourself to win and it just happens to host all the games of chance you might want to play against it within it’s casino walls. Without a casino or an opponent to gamble against you, or essentially someone to bet on the other possible outcomes of a game, you would not have an opportunity to win anything because there’s nothing being put at stake to win from.

However, since a casino is acting more than just your opponent and is also hosting the games for you to come visit and play, it needs a way to earn revenue to fund and pay for its operational costs. This is done through either the careful and precise method of pricing out the odds and payout of a game or by setting in place particular game rules that give the casino a winning advantage and what’s also known as the “house edge”.

In short and an oversimplified explanation, you’re either not being offered the fair value of winning on an odds bet or you’re at a disadvantage because the game is being played in such a way that it offers an advantage for the casino to win (i.e. the number of decks used in Blackjack or the rules the dealer must follow when playing against you, how you might you only get paid 1.98x for winning a bet that has a 50/50 odds of winning/losing, or you’re lead to think that you have a 50/50 odds of winning such as in roulette in choosing red or black for the color the ball lands on but forget to take into account there’s still the 0 and sometimes 00 green colored numbered which would result in losses for both anyone who bets either red or black).

With that said, it seems like awfully a lot more work to try and beat the casino by either hoping to beat the odds and coming out a winner or coming up with a genius method of winning . Yet, with so many other players out there going against the casino for them to take money from, wouldn’t it be easier if you were able to simply betting with the casino rather than against the casino? After all, it would mean you’d be “gambling” on the same team running the tables and who get to enjoy the advantages those games inherently have.

While some people’s first thought on how to accomplish this might be to buy the casino’s company stock and have partial ownership of the business by owning the stock if they’re publicly traded, you’re actually investing in the entire company’s operations and much more than simply gambling with them per se. That’s because when you invest in a casinos’ parent corporation such as MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment Inc., or Wynn Resorts Limited you’re investing in the entire hotel & casino business to include their food & hospitality operations that all come with complicated added expenses!

What this article is referring to is the ability to contribute to and take a share of the gambling earnings held and collected by the casinos which are made from the losing bets of other players. What it essentially means is some way of “investing” in the casino’s bank roll.

What is the bankroll?

For you as a player, your bankroll is the amount of money you’ve set aside or have budgeted for yourself to gamble with, sort of like your spending (or in this case “gambling”) limit. For the casino, it’s the pool of money that the casino uses to pay out winners of the game. Initially, this pool of money starts out as the money the casino has set aside for that purpose, but eventually it it is replaced by and grows from the collection of all the lost funds from other players who have been gambling and have not been so fortunate in winning a return.

In general, people use their bankroll to gamble and hope to win so that they can be paid out from the casino’s bankroll. This bank roll contributes to the revenue generated by a hotel & casino and account for anywhere between 20–45% of their earnings based on publicly released income earnings reports of publicly traded companies that own a casino. Because of this, the “casino’s bankroll” has pretty much been reserved for the owners and shareholders of the company, allowing them to generate more revenue for themselves

But times are changing, and thanks to the gaining prominence of online casinos, there’s now casinos which exist that allow you to “invest” in their bankroll.

The Dawn and Age of Online Casinos

As online casinos have gained more popularity in recent times, specifically cryptocurrency casinos, they function much like their land-based counter parts in that they offer games of chance to be played and make their income through implementation of the house edge in all their games. The main difference is, they don’t have the same overhead costs that come along with having a building to host all those games as the games are all hosted on servers that can be played online from almost anywhere in the world (at least where’s it’s legal and there’s a decent internet connection).

More importantly, that also translates into online casino that aren’t being run by the same corporate giants who have dominated the industry for the past century or so as online gaming providers in addition to online casinos have also grown within the digital online gaming marketplace. This in turn means there are now casinos being run by people with different motives and goals and in particular, ones that are more open to sharing in the wealth as some might say.

One such online casino that allows you the ability of sharing in or investing in their bankroll is a community-based crypto casino known as BC.GAME which is operated by BlockDance B.V. (Commercial register of Curaçao no.158182, Emancipatie Boulevard Dominico F. “Don” Martina 31, Curaçao) under a sublicense CIL pursuant to Master gaming License

So How Does it Work?

Please note that the following is for informational purposes only and does not constitute as investment advice. Please use your due diligence and/or seek a certified professional before making any sort of investment. All investments present some level of risk that may not be suitable for all types of investors, never invest with money that you can’t afford to lose.

Over at BC.Game, their bankroll implements a shareholding system that allows everyone to participate and obtain the corresponding shares.

As previously mentioned, the bankroll is the pool of money that the bankroller (casino) uses to pay out winners of the game. The max profit that players can win from a round of the game is determined by the size of the bankroll. The larger the bankroll, the more players can win.

  • Each player can only win 0.75 % of the bankroll per round
  • All players can only win 1.125% of the funds per round
  • Players can bet on the bankroll (and become bankrollers), and their bet is added to the bankroll such that they win when the house wins and they lose when the house loses.

A simple breakdown

The house edge for BC.GAME is 1%.

99% of each bet will go to the bankroll, and the remaining 1% will be reserved for platform operating costs.

Payouts made to the winning players will be deducted from the bankroll and all losing bets are distributed to among the bankrollers based on the amount of their contribution.

There is also an option to leverage your investment whereby you’re assigned a multiplier based on your initial investment (minus dilution fees) and if the Bankroll goes down, your investment may be liquidated and used to pay out the winnings for the player who won.

Every time you invest in the bankroll, 2 % of your investment will be distributed to the bankrollers who joined before you, according to their shares in the bankroll.

Similarly, every time bankrollers who joined after you invest in the bankroll, you get a portion of the 2 % of their investment.

For example, if you invest 1 ETH in the bankroll, 2 % of your investment (0.02 ETH) will be the be distributed to the bankrollers who joined before you, and the remaining 98 %(0.98 ETH) will be confirmed as your share of the bankroll.

The earlier you invest in the bankroll, you more you’ll benefit from the dilution fee system. As this is their way of rewarding long-time bankroll contributors.

As hinted by the site itself, you can also use this feature as an Off-Site investment.

Getting Started

To take part, first you must be a resident of or will be accessing the site from a country that is legally allowed to visit the website (in other words, it needs to be legal for you to visit an online casino). If that’s checked off, all you need to do is simply create an account at BC.Game and make a deposit for the amount you wish to invest.

Look for and select from one of the many “in house” games (AKA “BC Originals”) that you want to participate in for the game’s bank roll. Choosing a popular game that may be hard to win might be the best option for some people, but there’s more risk when more players are playing while the payout potential is much higher. Keep in mind that if lots of players are winning, it might deplete your investment in the bankroll.

Once selecting a game, open the link for the particular game and at the top you’ll see a button for “bankroll” as shown in the screenshot below:

The bankroll button for the game called Crash

Click on the Bankroll button and a popup window will appear with 3 tabs to choose from , select the “Change” tab as shown below:

Here you can see your wallet balance (which should be the amount you deposited into the account) and an area to enter how much you want to Deposit or Withdraw. Here you can also select whether or not you want to leverage your investment.

After inputting the desired amount, the bottom portion of the pop-up window will be filled in so that can know what to expect based on the amount you’re contributing, it’s that easy!

Here’s what it would look like if I was to contribute 1 BTC to the pool:

For this example, the current bankroll at the time of writing is roughly 716 BTC as seen in the former screenshot. This is why the number of shares I can expect with just 1 BTC is only 0.00000777%

This amount can be increased if I apply leverage as shown above but I wouldn’t suggest using leverage if you’re worried about losing your investment. Note that not applying leverage doesn’t necessarily mean you’re safe from incurring losses, it simply means you won’t be losing it at a multiplied rate.

Additional Notes

  • You do not need to be a player to invest in the bank roll. However, if gambling or the idea of gambling is against your moral views, please be aware that investing in the bankroll is a form of gambling, it’s just that your “bet” is with the casino, in this case, with BC.Game and not a bet made against the casino.
